چکیده

The continuous increasing consumption of metals during the last decades caused a considerable growth of anthropogenic stocks. But, knowledge regarding quantity, quality and availability of material from these stocks is still quite limited. This study aims at analysing anthropogenic aluminium (Al) stocks and flows in Austria utilising a dynamic material flow model. The amount of Al currently store in in-use stocks is about 360 kg/cap, total annual old scrap generation amounts to approx. 12 kg/cap and year. Through the combination of the existing dynamic material flows model with forecasts on future Al consumption the prospective trend of old scrap as well as the degree of self-supply from secondary resources is calculated.
